Here are two shots of the
front section as it looked in the beginning. At first glance, it looks
quite similar to version 2 of the panel, but there are some major changes,
most of all to the plywood support structure.
All components are on the
same level. Not only did the panel look rather flat, but there was also
a problem with the TFT monitors. Since the viewing angle was around -20
deg. (0 = looking straight down at the panel), the image had little contrast.
For this reason, I built a new plywood support for the monitors, raising
the lower outer corner of each display by 8 cm.
Also note that the MCP did
not have speed and alt. intervention buttons.
The first TFT dispays I
used had a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. They looked nice, but not as
crisp as the new displays with their 1024 x 768 resolution.
